Another great win against a Leafs team that should be on the top of the rankings when they play like they did in the third. Special A+ to Faksa who did a tremendous job against Matthews throughout the game and the nice breakaway goal. I also liked Janmark.

And that third win with the manner strangely coincides with Pavelski being out of the team. Just sayin'...

Good game. You can tell the Leafs have a ton of offense, but the Stars were able to keep it contained as best they could. Some crazy skill on Toronto though.

Looks like he's been playing a lot of LW in the AHL this season.

Also, Seguin seems to like to talk about their style of play in terms that make it clear he likes the winning isn't quite a fan of the approach to offense.

To be honest, I've never seen him play so well defensively in my life. He may not like it but he's buying in like a good soldier.

I was surprised last night when razor mentioned that he’s 3rd in the league in face off wins.
Especially considering that Lindy Ruff once called him out publicly for his poor face offs.
Could of.

Spezza's legacy. It was mentioned during the game the Tyler and him worked a lot on this aspect while Spezza was in the team, and they remained closed friends.

Seguin was bad at faceoffs his first season or so, but that was also his first stint back playing center after a couple of years on the wing. That's why Benn was often taking a majority of the faceoffs early on, but Seguin got better at it pretty quickly. It's been a while since I looked, but I believe he was taking and winning the great majority of the top line's faceoffs his second season as a Star.

Face offs are one of the most underrated aspects of hockey that actually make a huge difference.

Yeah, I see Tyler winning puck battles recently that you might not have seen from him a couple years ago.

Well if you're not gonna score, at least win some puck battles.

It’s exactly what you want to see from your depth players.
