Going to this one by myself since I'm new to NYC and know no other Stars fans here.

Hopefully Rangers fans aren't assholes lol.

Cannot be worse than Bruins fans

Kirivanta nicely rewarded for his first NHL goal with a press box seat along with Polak (that one should please a few of us though)

What an odd sequence.

Is it possible to take two too many men penalties at once? Because the Stars has 9 people on the ice there.

Intriguing first period. The usual gameplan in the beginning, then 2/2 on the PP, 0/2 on the PK and 2 real goals by Pavelski.

If you are facing a delayed penalty for too many men, a coach should just send his whole bench over the boards to go get the puck.

Didn't know that Lindy was one of the Rangers assistant.

Fedun would’ve scored twice there.

I am surprised to see Polak be the scratch. Thought he’d become a favorite of Bowness.

Seguin leeching points off of the great Comeau.

Polak scratched.

First time all season we've chased a goalie.

Total coincidence.

No complaints here. This was an actual win. Didn’t need OT. Generated actual offense both 5v5 and on the PP.

Nice win.

Well. MSG is a pretty cool place to watch hockey. Rangers fans are nuts but not violent against visitors, at least the ones I met.

Also, you don't really appreciate Miro until you see him live. What a freaking beast that guy is.

Also, major fail on that challenge by the Rangers. Wow.

And Hank needs to retire. All the Rangers fans were screaming that all night. Reminds me of Turco post-2008.

The thing that struck me most about Madison Square Garden is how much it felt like Reunion Arena. Really cool atmosphere. It's the only really old building left in the entire league.

Johns may still be good at hockey. He’s still slow from being out almost two years, but the fact that he’s back and playing is insane. Much less that he’s playing at a pretty high level.

Missed this game. Watching the condensed game... Amazing what can happen when Pavelski goes to the middle of the ice on the PP. Who woulda thunk it?

Nassau Coliseum (even if it isn't for the whole season) would like to talk to you.

Yeah, Nassau is as Reunion as it gets, especially when you go to the congested single-level concourse and the terrible restrooms.

There are specific restrooms at Nassau? I assumed from the urine smell everywhere that you were allowed to go anywhere you want.

That's because they use what drains from the urinals to fill the zamboni water tanks.

I wanted to go there tonight too but I just can't with my schedule.

My plan is to go to all three games when they play the Devils, Rangers, and Islanders from now on since they play them back to back up here.

I used to live near there, but it was during the time in the early 2000s when the Rangers sucked. That building was 1/3 full at most. You could always get tickets. But I usually sat in the upper area and there were still some die-hard New York fans who were just great. They were so sarcastic and bitching loudly about everything the Rangers did. I loved it. I think Glen Sather was the GM even then.

I would say that might translate well to an Internet message board, but we all know those won't survive without a legitimate news source to go with it.

Don't know if it helps, but tonight's game is at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

I have to imagine it's a lot easier to get to than Nassau. Getting out to Nassau was a huge beating when I did it a few years ago trying to get there from Manhattan where I took a subway to Queens and then had to take a very sketchy taxi to Nassau.

It was moderately full. LOTS of Stars fans. I was surprised by how many Stars fans there were. They were loud during the anthem and when we scored.

Rangers fans were not pleased lol.

That was exactly my experience last night. The guys behind me were hilarious.

Those people STILL scream "Potvin Sucks" after all these years...
