I really hope that Perry is in the line-up because of the absence of Faksa and Janmark, not because Bowness thinks he can bring a contribution.

He was taking too many penalties before the suspension. He’s gonna be on a short leash. And Kiviranta wants to force their hand.

Maybe he should try getting a single point in his 6th game then and also not being a minus in his career LOL.

That Benn goal perfectly summarizes his season: Lazy at its summum, letting the other do all the job and bend over just to take the goal.

Nice screening by Benn on the Sabres' second after being easily beaten by the terrific speed of Okposo. He's a real embarrassment in this banana skin game.

It’s ok. Sekera and Polak can pick up the slack.

And with Johns back in the line-up soon, Heiskanen would have been scratched anyway.

Man, you’ve got six skaters against four, and you give up a puck battle in the corner which becomes an empty netter?

Thank God Nill is keeping Bowness. Who knows what would happen if they didn’t try so hard to win 1-0.

Pavelski looked like a real idiot on the last empty netter.

And he wasn't the worst. The other millionaires' select club members (Seguin, Benn, Pavelski) were pathetic, along with Perry, the turnover-machine Klingberg who was out of position all game long, and Polak. No real surprises in fact.

The Stars were the Predators when we beat them in Nashville. First period was pretty even -- Sabres looked really not good at that time, Stars domination in the second but Buffalo scores on their lone scoring chance, and then came the horrible third. That was an overall poor effort, the execution was hideous. Instead of sticking with the game plan, they all wanted to rush headless individually and be the savior. Only the first line (the CDC one) had their chances and were floating a bit while the others drowned without fighting.

About the coaching, I really believe that Bowness is a good coach with a good defensive approach and proved that the can lead this team to the top. But at some point we desperate need a confirmed, respected guy well known in the League that has the ability to kick the lazy millionaires' butts with the manner. As a former assistant and given the type of nice guy he is, I hardly imagine Bowness being able to do this. Benn is lucky because his C is a veto that prevents him to be send in the press box, but the others frat' guys really need to see how does a press box look like.

At least that was a good environmental effort by the Stars: most of their jerseys remained clean and dry, no need to wash them and waste water for that.

Let's take a look at some guys.

Before his injury, Hintz was on a 46 goal and 56 point pace. After his injury, Hintz is on a 21 goal and 44 point pace.

For the expensive guys, I'll toss out those first 9 games of the season where everyone was terrible. If you took their per game offensive production rates from game 10 on and put it on a full 82 game season, these would be their totals:

Seguin 19 goals 69 points - production most similar to his second season in the league when he was playing 2nd line winger
Benn 23 goals 43 points - in line with his rookie season numbers when he was playing 3rd line winger
Pavelski 15 goals 37 points - pretty similar totals to what he did during the lockout shortened season
Radulov 28 goals 56 points - his goal scoring is similar to prior seasons, but his assists have dropped way off
Klingberg 3 goals 49 points - his assist numbers are normal, but he should be a double digit goal scorer

Besides the significant drop-off of their production, the concerns are also about side stuff, behavior, body language, attitude & Co. Benn, Pavelski became hybrids of Heatley and Vanek at their respective career end. They look like 76 years old and are basically one-dimensional snipers. I'm afraid Pietrangelo was right.

They are really emotionless, no grit -- or so little, no willing to hurt themselves, no team spirit, nothing, just gimme the cash. If only they would show that they are pissed sometimes, break one stick or two in the locker room alley, I don't know, just show something. Stars win, Stars lose, it just doesn't matter at all for them.

Yesterday I was even more pissed at Klingberg, clueless from top to bottom and dangerous as hell. The first Sabres EN, he just stood there, waiting for the guy to get the puck in the corner. Skate and win the *fargin'* battle, damnit ! You are 2 men up, there's 5 other guys to cover the 3 Sabres. If you really want to lose, just shoot yourself the puck in your own net. And then he's speaking about 'effort' in his post-game presser ? C'mon man, funk dat' !

The Stars remain one of the best team in the west with their supposed leaders playing like horseshit. Imagine if we had the version v2014.1 of them...

Very stupid move to pull Bishop at that moment. The Stars hadn't had control of the puck the whole power play. It was an automatic goal against.
