The coach is gone.

Long live the new coach.

They will have an excuse when they play down to an opponent.

I feel like this game is going to be very telling.
Do we win three in a row, or do we lose at home to the *fargin'* Devils?
I will be watching stoically like Dr. Chiu.

If a Benn scores a hat trick I think the only logical conclusion is that he framed Monty to get rid of him.

Interim vs. Interim. It's a death match! Two men enter. Both men leave. One team gets two points. The other team might get a point.
I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.

One of the refs tonight is apparently named Furman South. Sounds like a movie character name for a plantation owner or something.

Well I’ve seen enough. We can remove the interim tag.

It's official: they were playing against Monty from the very beginning.

Yes, he’s having a bad season. He’s approaching 30 and will soon sign an eight season $80 million deal the team signing him will regret not even 18 months after the ink dries.

Even NJ isn’t dumb enough to do Hall for Benn.

Several writers are calling the Stars a potential landing spot. If the Stars then extend Hall, it would be pretty neat. For a combined $30 million in cap money per season, the Stars would get production of one Art Ross contender.

Even more unexpected than Monty being fired today was Polak keeping the offensive play alive.

Or Calgary to do Gaudreau for Benn ? That would be funny.

I feel like we totally squandered that period to only have a two goal lead.

He's on a little downtrend since the last two or three games. Maybe he's the patient #0 of all this mess.

That was one of the worst shots on goal by Sekera that I've ever seen.

This. Even his angelic stretch passes aren't hitting the mark tonight.
I remember when Toews was a hungry young lion and Denis Savard (the only NHL coach he had ever known) was fired.
He said he was devastated and that it took him a little while to get his mojo back. In the end he was fine though.
