4 goals? This is an embarrassment of riches.

So 7 scoring chances, 2 goals, and multiple penalties drawn for Gurianiov. Probably time to send him back down to the AHL.

That would make him eligible for the Bill-Masterton.

Gallagher just ran into the butt-end of his stick. That's not high-sticking.

Please pull Price out again so that Gurianov can have another shot for his hattie.

Gallagher finishing the game at -1, both in +/- differential and teeth.

So who should be the new captain — Hintz, Gurianov, or Heiskanen?
Also, where do you guys think Benn, Seguin, and Klingberg will get traded to?

I think we will be ok when and if at least some of these schmucks start cashing in

Maybe try playing some of them with Roope Hintz to get secondary assists.

I realized earlier today that Hintz’s low assist number is due to playing on a team where there are no other scorers. It’s not like he can get assists from passing to himself.

Yeah. He’s probably a better playmaker too... I mean in theory.

If he plays with Gurianov he'll pick up some assists.

Regarding the symbolic leadership, if they're not playing THAT poorly (ie giving up multiple goals per game) then we really shouldn't be too critical of their 'leadership'. If it goes back to what we saw to start the season... ok break some skulls.

We can now build on this momentum by only having two games in the next 11 days.

Good lord, he’s the definition of a warm body. Dude is out there but he is just a guy. Benn and Seguin both has some crappy games. Seguin got his first breakaway in what feels like a year or more, and he got caught from behind by Weber?

Speaking of disappointing, Pavelski continues to be a useless waste of cap space. Perry is also old and slow, but Perry makes some great passes to stay involved. Perry is still very good at annoying the opposition.

Montreal has five guys who think they can stickhandle through everyone, and it resulted in numerous stupid turnovers. What a crazy careless game from them.

But Hintz and Gurianov played well. Their speed surprised the Habs a few times. Fun stuff when they are flying.

And the d all had some nice games. Monty leans hard on Lindell and Heiskanen, but the others played well.

Dicky’s fine. He’s got speed, which is helpful. At least he can keep up with the other quick players. He is trying to play well defensively, which he is. He will relax enough to score, eventually.

That was a fun game, finally. Montreal had their looks and momentum, but Dallas kept up the pressure, those kills really did energize the group. Comeau balanced the lines, which helped them roll four lines and not play any forward too much on a back to back. Now the D, riding Heski, Klinger and Lindell is Ok.

One more game to .500. Stay on it.

Dickinson is not a scorer, which he's even said himself in an interview. Nill should have traded him two years ago when other teams were supposedly calling about him. Now he's just a third line guy at best who will score 6 goals a year. But when he scores them he'll look really good so it'll make people think he's capable of more.

Basically this comes down to another case of Nill not selling high on a player.

The only reason to keep Dickinson is to have him play in Faksa's position when you trade him for something useful. Again, sell high. He's gotten Selke votes but so far this year has been mediocre. Trade him now instead of resigning him to a three or four year deal or whatever.

Pretty well balanced actually, all forwards got 15-ish minutes, from Seguin to Comeau. The Colorado game was also a good one and they managed to do the same solid performance in back-to-back games which is encouraging. They play more secure and responsibly in defense as well as in PK. It may be not sexy to not score many goals -- and yes, Benn, Seguin and Pavelski really need to step at one time -- but as long as we win, I'm fine with it.

Twelve roster positions, gotta fill them all. Dicky is gonna get better in the scoring department.

Fans are unrealistic. Not every one is gonna be a Seguin like scorer (ha ha). And most of those twelve spots will be filled with players that may be can’t score 30 a year, but can keep the puck out of their own net. I know defensive soundness is not as exciting as a Roope goal, but Roopes don’t grow on trees.

Dickinson’s career path appears to project somewhere between Curtis McKenzie and Colton Sceviour, but with the added stink of being a first round bust.

Then again, he only cost us 20 games of Jagr 7 years ago, so it’s not like it’s a huge sunk cost.

I'm not expecting Dickinson to be a Seguin-level scorer, but it is disappointing that he looks like he's going to struggle to ever even get up to the 30 point level. Yeah, playing solid defense is nice and all, but this team already has Comeau and Cogliano to play the PK, checking winger, zero offense roles.

Of any year, this is the year for Dickinson to be Seguin level since Segs is only on pace for 15 goals and 36 assists. Yikes.

If they cycle around the offensive zone counter clockwise, will time go backwards?

No, but they can perform the miracle of countering the coriolis effect.
