11/2 vs. Montréal — Une volée, tabarnak.

Postby Math » Sat Nov 02, 2019 2:38 pm

Habs folks are already convinced, they're gonna win easily. They have a better offense (right, right now), Stars are "a total mess" (5 wins over the last 6, objection your Honor) and they have much better goaltending (well, Stars' goalie are both better in GAA and SV% than their $10m guy and their back-up).

Roughly 20% of the 82 games they play this year are on the second night of a back to back. That is such bullshit. Surely, there is a way to lower this, especially for teams that have to travel far.

Don’t think the Stars have had the puck past center ice yet. 3.5 minutes in. Ugh.

And another stupid penalty from Radulov won’t help.

It’s funny because I turned on the game after 5 minutes and the Stars actually looked pretty good and then Radulov scores and then I read this.

Well you got to see another penalty by Radulov live then. It was marginal, but that's a reputation call there.

I mean it looked like a slash. It was a soft slash but they call those.

I think the PK actually woke them up. They were fine afterwards.

It’s kind of weird to watch the Stars actually compete in the 1st period.

The Stars sure squandered a lot of good pressure this period.

Having a good aggressive PK is not a reason to go on taking stupid penalties.

I'm glad we got *something* out of that period of (mostly) outplaying them. We just are not scoring enough with the pressure we're getting.

In 5 or 6 games I may be willing to admit that Todd might’ve been kinda right about Oleksiak.

Habs commentators are shocked that the Stars are leading because they played yesterday. According to them, the Stars should be totally tired and exhausted.

A random observation on Gurianov.

When he was awarded that penalty shot, he did not look excited at all. He looked nervous as *f-bomb*.

And when he scored, he did not like elated. He looked RELIEVED. Very relieved.

I think this guy may still be a bit in his own head. Probably because he's regarded as kinda "almost" on the team, and having missed a number of chances.

Beautiful pass by Hintz.

So 7 scoring chances, 2 goals, and multiple penalties drawn for Gurianiov. Probably time to send him back down to the AHL.
