Let's not fall off the cliff.

This game won’t answer everything because the Avs are fairly beat up now, but we can look for some hints.

Was the big comeback against the Wild evidence of:
- the team figuring out its offense?
- them displaying a flailing gasp of their best desperation effort that isn’t repeatable on a nightly basis?
- one of the worst teams in hockey collapsing on the road to provide false hope to the Stars?

I would say a bit of all three.

I will be very curious to see how the Stars start. If they come out flat and uninterested, then we know that third period was a mirage.

Troy, the power play might have been coaching, not players.

Great moral victory period so far. I will enjoy it until the fluke Colorado goal that causes us to collapse.

They aren’t getting run over. They have a few good scoring chances from the top line. Certainly better than many other first periods so far.

The Avalanche deserve to lose just for those jerseys.

Good to see the Stars manufacture a goal with passing in the offensive zone.

Calling it. Hintz with the Richard.

Careful. I remember the time Devin Shore scores 5 goals in a month and people thought he was good.

Never been a fan of Avs jerseys and their awful color scheme, but yeah those thirds are hideous.

The best first period so far by the Stars (the game vs. Ottawa doesn't count).

So you’re saying the Art Ross too?

That period was good, which is shocking to say about a first period for the Stars.

Hintz really enjoys to enter it between the legs...

I know the Avs are beat up, but overall, this seems like the best consecutive 1.5 periods I’ve seen the Stars put up yet this szn.

I like the joke, but I’m afraid there’s a bit lost in the translation.

It’s going to be hard to do when he finishes the season with 5 assists.

Why did Perry get a penalty? All he did was stand there.

Are the Stars bad at puck-handling, or is the ice just utter crap? Normally I’d say the former, but the ice just looks bad tonight.

I think the record is showing that I was right all along about that particular player.
