There was a lot of emotion in this game, Niemi had good reason to play great, the Benn brothers meet again, Pateryn and Radulov go back to their former team. But the Stars beat themselves with stupid penalties and you could see from the start they didn’t think they had to play that hard.

I agree with Pateryn 100%. Shaw takes runs routinely. This time, he hurt himself instead of the other guy.

I would have done the exact same thing Pateryn did by instinct because it was Shaw. If Pateryn was really a dirty player, he would have continued hitting Shaw even after he realized he was out. The only reason he hit Shaw after that is because he didn't realize what had happened.

This was like Niemi's third best game in his last five:

The only reason Niemi is showing moderately decent stats is that the teams playing Montreal aren't trying because the Habs suck.

Lulz:

Mike Heika wrote:The goalie who was bought out by the Stars last summer came up with 36 saves. So in essence, the Stars paid Niemi $1.5 million to beat them.

That sums up the last 10 years or so of Stars hockey.

This plus there is officially zero pressure on them to make the playoffs now (they can't), so of course he's pulling a Lehtonen.
I hope Bargainbin falls for it and re-signs him long term.
(Also shows you how bad Nill is when he's as smart as the dumbest GM in the league).
That Hanzal's so hurt right now.

And *f-bomb* Shaw. I legit laughed out loud when I saw that he was hurt.

I'm enjoying how upset people in Montreal are about Pateryn saying true things.
I got a ranch in downtown Dallas/I buy diamonds by the ton/Chase cuties in my Cadillac/Drill oil wells just for fun/But when it comes to boots, I need a deal/That will fit me right, toe to heel/So I get my boots at Western Warehouse.
